Why APEX-10 is Ghana and Africa’s Best Defence Against A Possible Food Crisis

While we heal the wounds from coronavirus and its variants, experts predict yet another global migraine in 2022 – a food crisis, and Africa could be a major victim. But the messiah is here.

BNN Bloomberg reports that “Prices of synthetic fertilizer, which rely on natural gas and coal as raw materials, have soared amid an energy shortage and export restrictions by Russia and China.” Essentially, chemical fertilizer is in short supply globally; prices have gone up, and farmers will not have enough fertilizer to produce target food quantity come 2022

In Africa, the shortage seems to be a more dangerous threat to food security. Food production success has always depended on chemical fertilizer use. And now, farmers are frustrated. Citi Newsroom reports that in Sissala District, the shortage of fertilizer is adversely affecting farmers, leaving large fields of maize turning yellowish a few weeks after planting. 65-year old Mr Batong Iddrisu could cultivate only 5 out of 15 acres of his land, while Madam Issifu Damata at Tumu feared abandoning her 42-acre maize field, which she has already ploughed. That is hard earned money and hard labour going to waste, all because of a global shortage of chemical fertilizer.

BUT, what if all this is no issue at all? What if a global fertilizer shortage is not a threat to our food security? What if farmers can actually give us MORE than enough food at half the cost of fertilizer? This may sound like a funny dream. But hold your breath, because it’s about to get real.

Disrupting food security in Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia

In Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean several testimonials and shocking stories an organic bio-stimulant and soil amendment formula are spreading among local farmers. It’s called Apex-10, a fertilizer BOOSTER (not a fertilizer) that drastically improves fertilizer efficiency and retention, reduces water needs, and builds healthier, stronger crops & plants.

Introduced in Ghana, the liquid-based product has been subsidized under the Planting for Food and Jobs program, and the results have been a combination of shock and excitement. 1000s of farmers swear by it. Some have a renewed joy in agriculture, young people are attracted to farming, and each day, more stories keep coming. Apex-10 is making farming sexy again. And why not, if farmers are getting 2 to 3 times their normal yield at about half the cost of fertilizer, with no compromise on quality?

But what exactly is this Apex-10? And how does it make fertilizer shortage less of a problem?

Manufactured by US-based Nature’s Wonder and certified by the OMRI, Apex-10 is a bio-stimulant and soil amendment formula packed with 100% natural active ingredients extracted 10,000-year old organic matter (peat). Its job is to enhance the efficiency of fertilizer and water to enable all plants to get the best environment to yield. The result is stronger crops, higher yields, and tastier, richer food. But that’s not all.

Apex-10 solves environmentalists major problem with chemical fertilizers i.e runoffs of about 40% of it deep into waterbeds, introducing toxins into our water bodies and posing danger to aquatic life and humans. Farmers have needed to use more fertilizer to ensure enough stays for plants to use. But Apex-10 ensures that 34% of fertilizer stays in the soil for plants to use. Therefore, If Mr Iddrisu uses Apex-10, he needs only 50 to 60% of the amount of fertilizer he normally uses, and the Apex-10 will enhance it and for his crops to perform at their best. And there’s something else he doesn’t have to worry about.

Apex-10 works on anything that grows on every type of plant, provided it grows. It is not a chemical product configured for a specific crop. It is a natural organic matter extract and complements any type of fertilizer or manure. So Mr Iddrisu doesn’t have to worry if Apex-10 works well for maize or for millet. It’s a universal product and works on anything from flowers to thick trees. It replenishes all types of soil and enhances its microbial activities. Even infertile soil can regain its fertility. And if a farmer’s biggest headache is water, here comes salvation.

Apex-10 drastically improves the water retention capacity of plants. This means that crops sprayed with Apex-10 require little water to perform at their peak. And several tests prove that even in times of drought, plants are able to maintain their strength and not wither away. So farmers in the north like Madam Damata will save money on both fertilizer and irrigation so they can increase their profits and take care of their families.

It’s clear that the story of Apex-10 in Ghana and in Africa is not merely about increasing crop yields. It is also a story of economic and environmental sustainability. If poor farmers can now make more profit by using less fertilizer to produce more food for the market, if we can now slash down chemical fertilizer use in our soils and reduce runoffs to protect our water bodies, if we can now reduce forest exploitation for farming purpose and still feed everyone even as the population increases; then this is a story worth promoting.

But what exactly is this Apex-10? And how does it make fertilizer shortage less of a problem?

And why not? Apex-10 is teaching us that the world is missing an essential ingredient in the battle for security and environmental sustainability. And it’s clear that with Apex-10, Ghana and to a larger extent Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, have our best defense against any food crisis. It’s time for governments and individuals who truly care about solving world hunger, who care about economic and environmental sustainability, and who care about feeding the world with healthy food, to help spread the Apex-10 story. It is one story. Our story.
